The Farm
The Lodge
The Estate set amidst farmland locally known as “mall”. It is distanced from any human inhabitance and all roads end here. It is spread in 30 acres of land sandwiched between two rivers, Parwan and its tributary Dabur and a forest on one side. The views of open landscapes, clean air, sunrise, sunsets, moonlit nights and the blue waters of Parwan are worth witnessing.
The main building is built like a plantation bungalow with veranda, fireplaces and a bedroom. The villas are surrounded by Orange, Guava and bamboo plantations.
Wildboars, bluebull antelope and jackals are frequent visitors and it is a wonderful place for bird watching. Blackbucks can be spotted during jeep drives.
The effects of climate change are being felt at the Estate too and conventional agriculture is becoming more and more uncertain. We are systematically shifting to plantations and reducing dependency on chemicals. Other than the ochards We produce all kinds of produce like wheat, coriander, gram, soya, fenugreek, garlic onion, mustard etc.
The four stone cottages are inspired from local village architecture and are built with locally available materials and traditional techniques with all the modern comforts.
Each cottage is 800 square feet of private space with a private courtyard and open to air shower, The cottages are well furnished with large /twin beds, cupboard, writing table, chair, chaises, and chairs in the private courtyard. There is a spacious bathroom in each cottage. Extra beds are available on request. There are large doors and windows in each cottage which open on to the orchards and the courtyards, allowing for natural breeze and fascinating view of the orchards. The cottages have been designed to make you feel one with the surroundings and sense the beauty of nature.
Meals are served communally, in the dining room or outdoors depending on the weather. We are glad to cater for any special diets if needed and also provide for vegetarian options too. When time permits we also love to join you at the table.
You may be the kind of person who just wants to relax and chill out, sit on the veranda or under the trees and dream, observe the sky change colour or catch up with your reading, You could also star gaze into the clear pollution-free night sky.
Finally you can get to know the family members and other guests and just chat about anything and everything. It is a great place to exchange tales of life.
At River stone lodge we assure you of personalised attention. We are fully involved and would love to take you around the farm or the many rustic places of interest nearby or just interact with you, without compromising your privacy. We like to personalise your stay as per your interests.
We hope to give you an exotic rural experience. We are always there to make your holiday a memorable one and hope you will have fond memories to take back.
My Story
Dabri is a quaint village on the banks of Parwan. My forefathers had laid the foundations of the land lordship in 1649 CE. Ever since Dabri has always been my family’s home and our connection with the local communities runs very deep.
My love for nature was inculcated into me by my family, especially my mother. As a child I got to spend a lot of time in the countryside camping, picnics by the lakes & rivers and loosing myself to the historical sites all around. Going to Dabri with my grandfather was something I always looked forward to. Sitting by the fire listening to tales of the bygone era and how it used to be are some memories that I still cherish.
I have decided to create River Stone Lodge for travellers to enjoy what I have had the good fortune of since child hood.
I started my career with Tata Coffee as a Coffee planter in the Bliss of Coorg. After that cities have never been my thing. Last 16 years of my life I have been part of the travel and tourism industry, travelling the length and breadth of the country. Meeting and interacting with people from all walks of life which has been very gratifying for me.
I am very passionate about conservation and I believe every day that passes, time is being lost and something must be done on ground.
I am a history buff and some of my varied interests are, wildlife, photography, gardening, camping, trekking, running, cooking and at the end of the day nothing like throwing a good party.

The Region "Hadoti"
The south eastern region of Rajasthan is popularly known as Hadoti. It consists of districts of Kota, Bundi, Baran and Jhalawar.
Hadoti differs from western Rajasthan in terms of topography and climatic conditions. The landscape consists of elevated stony grasslands known as “patthaar”and the Aravali and Vindhya hill ranges.
Through these hills and grasslands flow a number of rivers, biggest of which is the Chambal. These rivers drain the waters of the Malwa region into the Ganga basin.
It is a rich agricultural zone with black cotton soil and an annual rain fall of 700mm
Because of climatic condition/topography and the rivers, varied habitats exist in this region and the biodiversity of Hadoti is unmatched. Flora and fauna of the deserts as well as that of central India are all found here.
In the past Hadoti has been a home to the Great Indian Bustard and the extinct Asiatic Cheetahs too.
This region too has played its part in the enchanting history of India and history in turn has left its impressions on this region.
Forts, palaces, temples and archaeological sites are found all over the region telling the tales of the eras gone by. As of today Hadoti remains an undiscovered jewel for travellers. It is a paradise for bikers and cyclists alike.

Our Vision
Our vision is to give our guests an immersive experience of life in the outback and feel the elements of nature in their full glory, truly a Spiritually, holistically, soothing to the heart & mind experiential holiday to our guests. It is our endeavour to bring tourism to this remote region of Hadoti.
As climate change becomes more and more obvious, our vision is to develop an alternative system of agriculture which is economically self sustained and has a negative carbon foot print at the same time. We intend to produce a wide range of farm products which our guests can savour and at the same time provide alternative sources of employment for the local communities.
Tourism could be the best friend of conservation. Majority of the land mass of our beautiful country is farm land sprinkled with small forest patches all over. To save the biodiversity of our country other than the national parks and Sanctuaries we also need to pay attention to these smaller forests in the countryside. We aspire to help conserve and rehabilitate one such forest land of 500 Ha in Dabri. Which not too long ago was home to a wide range of animals including leopards. While doing so, also create sustainable sources of employment for the village community. We aspire to create awareness amongst local community especially amongst (children) about habitat conservation. Starting tourism in such a remote location is our first step towards this goal. We can coexist with nature without damaging it.
